Jesus declared that there are several witnesses that affirm who He is: God the Father (John 5:37), God the Holy Spirit (John 15:26), the works Jesus did (John 5:36), and the Scriptures (John 5:39; Luke 24:27, 44).  The following passages of Scripture tell us plainly who Jesus is: Jesus is God, Jesus alone is the promised Messiah, Jesus is the exclusive Savior of sinful man, Jesus created the heavens and the earth, there is no one like Jesus, Jesus is God in the flesh (fully God and fully man), Jesus is the only Mediator between God and man, Jesus gave Himself for our ransom, Jesus was sent by God the Father to save man from his sin and it’s penalty (death), salvation from sin/death/hell is only through faith in Jesus, and Jesus will one day judge the world in righteousness.  The passages listed were part of our “Faith’s Foundation Series” where we examine the seven “I AM” statements of Jesus to understand the essential, non-negotiable, teachings regarding Jesus.

[Isaiah 43:3, 10-13 NKJV] 3 For I [am] the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. ... 10 "You [are] My witnesses," says the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I [am] He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. 11 I, [even] I, [am] the LORD, And besides Me [there is] no savior. 12 I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, And [there was] no foreign [god] among you; Therefore you [are] My witnesses," Says the LORD, "that I [am] God. 13 Indeed before the day [was], I [am] He; And [there is] no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?"

The LORD declares He alone is God, and is able to tell us of the things to come, and has demonstrated this throughout the prophecies in the Holy Bible.  Additionally, the LORD God declares that He is the One who created the heavens and the earth.  And calls all the earth to look to Him alone for salvation.

[Isaiah 44:6-8 NKJV] 6 "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I [am] the First and I [am] the Last; Besides Me [there is] no God. 7 And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, Since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come, Let them show these to them. 8 Do not fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared [it]? You [are] My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed [there is] no other Rock; I know not [one].' "

[Isaiah 45:5, 14-15, 18, 21-22 NKJV] 5 I [am] the LORD, and [there is] no other; [There is] no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, ... 14 Thus says the LORD: "The labor of Egypt and merchandise of Cush And of the Sabeans, men of stature, Shall come over to you, and they shall be yours; They shall walk behind you, They shall come over in chains; And they shall bow down to you. They will make supplication to you, [saying], 'Surely God [is] in you, And [there is] no other; [There is] no other God.' " 15 Truly You [are] God, who hide Yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior! ... 18 For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: "I [am] the LORD, and [there is] no other. ... 21 Tell and bring forth [your case]; Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has declared this from ancient time? [Who] has told it from that time? [Have] not I, the LORD? And [there is] no other God besides Me, A just God and a Savior; [There is] none besides Me. 22 "Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I [am] God, and [there is] no other.

[Isaiah 46:9-10 NKJV] 9 Remember the former things of old, For I [am] God, and [there is] no other; [I am] God, and [there is] none like Me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times [things] that are not [yet] done, Saying, 'My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,'

[Hosea 13:4 NKJV] 4 "Yet I [am] the LORD your God Ever since the land of Egypt, And you shall know no God but Me; For [there is] no savior besides Me

[Jhn 3:16 NKJV] 16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

[Matthew 1:21-23 NKJV] 21 "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." 22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."

Jesus would pay the penalty for our sins on the cross.  God the Father sent His Son to save us from sin’s penalty, death.  Mankind stands condemned in their sin apart from faith in Jesus.

[1Titus 2:5-6 NKJV] 5 For [there is] one God and one Mediator between God and men, [the] Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,

[John 3:17-18, 36 NKJV] 17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ... 36 "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

The miraculous works Jesus did in His earthly ministry confirmed the message He taught of forgiveness of sin through faith in Him.  Jesus was resurrected three days after His crucifixion.  Jesus will also be the judge of the living and the dead.

[Acts 10:33-42 NKJV] 33 "So I sent to you immediately, and you have done well to come. Now therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things commanded you by God." 34 Then Peter opened [his] mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 "But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. 36 "The word which [God] sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ--He is Lord of all-- 37 "that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. 39 "And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree. 40 "Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 "not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, [even] to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42 "And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God [to be] Judge of the living and the dead.

For there is no other savior apart from God Himself.  Eternal life is exclusively found in Christ alone.  God’s command to all men everywhere is to repent, to turn from sin and place our trust in Jesus alone.
[Acts 4:12 NKJV] 12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
[1John 5:11-12 NKJV] 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
[Acts 17:30-31 NKJV] 30 "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 "because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."
